When we started LinkAdage back in September 2003, the site started out with some great search engine rankings. The problem was, not many people knew about buying and selling text link ads and therefore never searched on our “great keywords”.

I remember days going by and getting only one or two new members. It soon became clear that LinkAdage would need to start a massive advertising campaign. It was expensive, but those early ads would bring in massive sign-ups. Then things began to turn… people actually starting searching for a site where they could buy or sell text links. Mmmm free traffic.

Now, we average about 10 – 15 new members per day, many from referrals. I never thought that possible in the beginning, but text link advertising has really taken the web by storm – and we are glad to have taken part in the creation of the first open text link ad market that started it all.

The price gouging days of $90 for a PR5 and $220 per month for a PR7 are long gone. We have achieved LinkAdage’s initial goal – to bring this form of advertising to the everyday webmaster. No longer is the market controlled by a few text link brokers and SEOs its controlled by market forces brought on by more people being in the game.

So why the Blog? Well more free traffic . Also, this will be a spot where I can communicate things related text link advertising and how to succeed in this business. Things change often in this market, and I feel I can offer a unique perspective because of the volume of link trading that flows through LinkAdage.
