Over the past several months we have been completely redesigning the LinkAdage website.  We are testing and cleaning up a few issues and the plan is to go live Tuesday of next week.

What has changed?

The LinkAdage main site will shift from auctions to classified ads.  All classifieds will be 100% free unless you want to upgrade your ad for better visibility.  We have also redone the forum and integrated it into the site so you can actually find it.  Also, the brokerage side of LinkAdage is integrated into the site better than before but you will still need a separate login to access brokerage accounts.

I am been a member for years, will I lose all my site history?

We took a final snapshot of the entire LinkAdage database last month and have used that to import all old messages and user ratings into your account.  Auctions will not be accessible from your new user backend, however, auctions will all be archived on the site with the same URLs so if you need to find an old auction you can dig a bit and find it.  Since it took a while to modify the database after the last snapshot, you will lose message history from the last few weeks so please print out any important messages since mid November you want to keep just to be safe.

Logging in

The first time you log in to the upgraded LinkAdage you will need to request a new password.  After you get your new password you will be able to login with your username/password.

I am running auctions now, what happens to them?

Any auctions being run will be gone for good, if you are running upgraded auctions I will add points to your account so you can relist your auctions as premium classified ads on the new site.  If you have a nice formatted auction, you might want to copy and paste the text into a Word doc to speed up creating the replacement classified.

Points?  How do I get points and what are they for?

You will be able to buy points that can be used for auction upgrades.  Also through site participation, posting ads, forum posts, comments, views etc.   you will earn points that can be used for Classified ad upgrades.  At this time “Earned points” can only redeemed for classified upgrades not cash.  As we add more features, earned points will be usable for other services in the future.
